Input and output modules with USB port

analog inputs

Module Yocto-0-10V-Rx, 2 analog inputs

The Yocto-0-10V-Rx device will let you read via USB the instant value returned by any industrial sensor following the 0-10V standard, as well as record the measures on its internal flash for later retrieval when connected again by USB. The device can automatically map the current reading to a physical measure by applying a proportional rule. The module features two inputs, to connect two independent sensors.

The Yocto-0-10V-Rx can provide up to 80mA to power sensors that do not require to much power. The supply voltage is regulated 23V, isolated from the USB bus but common to both inputs.

Module Yocto-4-20mA-Rx, 2 analog inputs

The Yocto-4-20mA-Rx device will let you read via USB the instant value returned by any industrial sensor following the 4-20mA standard, as well as record the measures on its internal flash for later retrieval when connected again by USB. The device can automatically map the current reading to a physical measure by applying a proportional rule. The module features two inputs, to connect two independent sensors.

You can find sensors for all kind of physical measures using the standard 4-20mA interface. Transmitting the measure using a 4-20mA current loop makes it possible to get a very precise reading (up to 0.01%), and works even when the sensor is far away from the interface module (several thousands of meters of cable away).

The Yocto-4-20mA-Rx support 2-wires sensors (powered from the current loop) as well as 3-wires sensors (that require an additional power supply with shared ground) and 4-wires sensors (with an isolated power supply). It can even provide up to 80mA to power 3-wires sensors that do not require to much power. The supply voltage is regulated 23V, isolated from the USB bus but common to both inputs.

Module Yocto-milliVolt-Rx, 1 analog input

It is a high precision USB voltmeter. It will let you measure by USB very small voltages (down to a few dozen of microVolts, and up to 2V max), even when they are generated by extremely weak sources (very high impedance).

Typical applications include measurement of electro-chemical reactions (e.g. pH and redox probes), low-voltage sensors (e.g. gaz sensors, etc) or Wheatstone bridges (e.g. load cells, etc). It is also possible to use this device to precisely measure the voltage drop accross a shunt to measure high currents.

The input circuit of this device uses a very low bias current amplifier (typ. 0.2 pA). The measure circuit is electrically isolated from the USB bus, which makes it possible to measure grounded voltages without risk of creating a ground loop.

For measuring the weakest signals (e.g. pH measurements), it is recommanded to use the BNC variant of this product, which features a BNC connector to use with coaxial cable, and avoid electromagnetic interferences.

Module Yocto-CO2, 1 channel

The Yocto-CO2 device will let you measure the quantity of carbon dioxide (CO2) in ambiant air via an USB connection, as well as record it on its internal flash for later retrieval when connected again by USB.

This device is ideal to precisely monitor the air quality in residential, commercial and industrial spaces, as well as potentially dusty air ducts used in HVAC (Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning) systems. The sensor used in this device uses non-dispersive infra-red absorption (NDIR), and requires no maintenance. It provide precise measurements already within the first minute after power on.

The expected CO2 concentration in fresh air varies between 360 and 390 ppm depending on the location. Industry consensus standard rate maximal admissible CO2 between 1'000 and 2'500 ppm in ventilated buildings. Around 10'000 ppm, some people feel dizziness. The standard version of this sensor is capable to measure up to 10'000 ppm (vol), or 1%.

The same device can be built with a 30'000 ppm sensor (3%) or 300'000 ppm sensor (30%).

Module Yocto-Light-V2, 1 channel

The Yocto-Light-V2 device is an USB ambiant light sensor (lux meter) which will allow you to you measure ambient light up to 65000 lux. Measurements can be directly read via USB or stored on the device internal flash for later retrieval when connected again by USB.

This module can be used in conjunction with a directional light source to create a light barrier, as it is very reactive. This device is a possible replacement for the Yocto-Light V1, which is not produced anymore. The other option is the Yocto-Light-V3, which is less reactive but whose light sensitivity spectrum better matches the human eye.

This circuit has been designed so that the sensor itself can be moved further away from the USB by a few meters: simply split the board into two parts and solder a 4-wire cable on the designated pads.

Module Yocto-Meteo

Your own USB weather station: the Yocto-Meteo device will let you measure via USB the current humidity, pressure, and temperature, as well as record the pressure, ambient temperature and humidity on its internal flash for later retrieval when connected again by USB (built-in data logger). This product is the ideal to build your own DIY weather station, and to monitor the weather conditions in your garden.

This meter circuit has been designed so that the sensor itself can be moved further away from the USB connector by a few meters: simply split the board into two parts and solder a 4-wire cable on the designated pads.

Module Yocto-VOC

It will let you estimate the quantity of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in ambiant air via an USB connection, as well as record it on its internal flash for later retrieval when connected again by USB.

This meter circuit has been designed so that the sensor itself can be moved further away from the USB connector by a few meters: simply split the board into two parts and solder a 4-wire cable on the designated pads.

The MEMS metal oxide sensor used in this device measures the variation of volatile organic compounds in ambiant air, and use it to estimate their concentration in ppm CO2 equivalents (relative). The sensor is able to detect alcohols, aldehydes, aliphatic hydro-carbons, amines, aromatic hydro-carbons (petrol vapors, etc.), carbon oxides, CH4, LPG, ketones, and organic acids. Be aware that the first estimation is only available 15 minutes after powering on the device.

The initial value returned by the sensor is 450 ppm CO2 equivalents (theoretical value for fresh air). The sensor measure relative variations of volatile organic compounds to provide an estimated ppm value, with an automatic baseline correction. The absolute value must therefore be interpreted with great care, as it is subject to drift. It is not comparable with the absolute value returned by a Yocto-CO2 for instance, but it has the advantage of including a broader range of volatile organic compounds than a simple CO2 sensor.
